High temperatures are expected to be in the 90’s in southern lower Michigan tomorrow through Saturday. Consumers Energy’s Brian Wheeler says you can save energy and a little money by setting your thermostat to 78 degrees when you’re home and higher when you’re away from home.

“Wait to do your laundry until night, and use a clothesline outside to dry your clothes if you can,” says Wheeler. “If you’re going to bake, don’t do it in the midday hours when your house is going to be hotter already”

If you follow the tips, Wheeler says you could save up to 20% on your energy bill. He believes they have he supply to handle the heat wave.
