Coming up this Friday is the annual celebration of the OutCenter in Benton Harbor. The Lake Effect Pride event is set for 6 to 10 p.m. at the Inn at Harbor Shores. OutCenter Board Chair Todd Dockerty says it’s a fundraiser for the organization, but also a party, in general. He adds it’s a good way for the OutCenter to celebrate its allies in the community.
“There’s been a lot of phenomenal changes for the OutCenter and for the community this year, and it truly would not be without our allies that we would be where we are at,” Dockerty told WSJM. “So, we really are focusing on our allies and celebrating those in the community that support and celebrate us.”
Dockerty says the Ally of the Year award will be announced at Lake Effect Pride. The evening will also feature food, a DJ, dancing, and a raffle. You can buy tickets at the OutCenter, or at the door. They’re $35 for one, and $60 for two.
