If you are planning a vacation (or even a “stay-cation”), keep this in mind….8 days. Yup! According to research, the perfect length of time for a break from work and the real world is 8 days.

  • Any shorter and the “short-term” benefits of a vacation are equally short lived.
  • Any longer and you could find yourself thinking about work which could equally lose the positive effects.

The study also found that those who don’t take vacations have a higher risk of heart attack. So if you say you “can’t take a vacation” because there’s too much work to do, it may be a benefit for you to do so over the long-term. Short term decisions, long term results.
