Coming up Monday will be a torch run in St. Joseph to raise money for the Special Olympics in Michigan. Special Olympics Community Representative Kristin Howell tells WSJM News law enforcement officers from across Berrien County are expected to take part.

“This is an event that’s open to the general public,” Howell said. “It’s not just for law enforcement members, but this is their way of benefiting the Special Olympics.”

The one mile run starts at the Howard Bandshell in downtown St. Joe, and will go along the bluff, around part of downtown, and end at the Whirlpool Centennial Fountain. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the run starts at 11. Everyone who pays a $25 registration fee will also get a run shirt.
