30 MI Volunteers In Southeast For Hurricane Response

30 Michiganders have been sent by the American Red Cross to Florida and North Carolina to help with the response to Hurricane Matthew. Spokesperson Vicki Eichstaedt says it’s part of a significant overall response that includes volunteers from several regions of the state.

“More than 500 disaster workers are standing by in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and we have almost 90 emergency response vehicles standing by,” Eichstaedt said.

Hurricane Matthew killed hundreds in Haiti. At least one person is dead nearly one million people are without power in the United States.
