More Than One Million Michiganders To Hit The Road For Thanksgiving

A lot of us are planning to hit the road next week for Thanksgiving. AAA of Michigan’s holiday travel forecast is predicting a 2% increase in the number of Michigan residents who will go at least 50 miles from home according to spokeswoman Susan Hiltz.

“This year marks the most Thanksgiving travelers in nearly a decade,” Hiltz said. “We’re looking at a million and a half Michiganders who who will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a holiday getaway.”

Hiltz says the roads might get a bit packed.

“Nine out of ten people traveling will be going be vehicle,” Hiltz said.

AAA defines the Thanksgiving holiday travel period as November 23-27.
