State Lifts Weight Restrictions

In a sign of the changing season, the Michigan Department of Transportation has lifted all seasonal weight restrictions on state roads. The restrictions were implemented in February when the weather started to get warmer. Now, it’s been warm long enough to make lifting them possible. Weight restrictions are placed on large trucks, ensuring they don’t exceed certain weights and cause major damage to the roads. MDOT may have lifted weight restrictions, but county road commissions set their own for non-state roads. Anyone looking for more information can check out Michigan.gov/Truckers.
