A summer construction map has been released by the Berrien County Road Commission. Engineer Brian Berndt tells WSJM News big projects this year include the replacement of a culvert on Territorial Road over Blue Creek. That $1 million project should be finished by July 4. There’s plenty of other work going on in the next few months, and Berndt asks drivers to take it easy.
“Be patient with our construction zones, and be careful when you’re driving through them,” Berndt said.
Crews this summer will be replacing a bridge on River Road over Pipestone Creek, reconstructing part of Deans Hill Road in Berrien Township, and reconstructing Red Arrow Highway at County Line Road. That last one is a joint project with the Van Buren County Road commission. In all, the Berrien County Road Commission is doing about $13 million in work this summer. We have a link to the whole summer construction map right here.
