Hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico and Texas have the support of Allegan-based Perrigo. The producer of generic drugs and baby formula has given $25,000 to charities responding to Hurricane Maria and $15,000 to organizations helping with Harvey. The company’s Tom Farrington spoke with WSJM News.

“We have the Perrigo Foundation, and so every year, we take a certain amount of our income and dedicate that to charitable causes here in Michigan and around the United States where we’ve got business operations and throughout the world.”

Farrington tells us Perrigo has also shipped 125 pallets of health and nutritional products to hurricane-affected areas. He adds employees just expressed a desire to respond to a situation that obviously calls for attention.
