The Mega Millions lottery jackpot is at a near record for tonight’s drawing. Michigan Lottery Spokesperson Jeff Holyfield says it’s now $454 million, the highest it’s been all year. Tickets are selling at a quick pace, as Holyfield notes people like to imagine all of the ways their lives would change if they won that much money.
“It would take you nearly 52 years to spend $454 million if you could spend a thousand dollars an hour,” Holyfield told WSJM.
The odds of getting a Mega Millions jackpot are one in more than 258 million, but Holyfield says tickets are only a dollar, which some consider worth the entertainment. If no one wins tonight, the jackpot for Friday is expected to go up to $508 million.
