If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, state Senator John Proos has a suggestion — check out one of the state’s parks using a free pass you can get at your local library. Proos says the state’s Michigan Activity Pass Program enables anyone to print out a pass to a state park using their library card. Just go to the library, and then take in some of southwest Michigan’s most scenic places.

“In particular, Warren Dunes down in the Sawyer area on Lake Michigan,” Proos said. “Extraordinary dunes and an opportunity to take your family with your library card. Head into your library, pick up that pass, and you’ll have an opportunity to go to one of our great state parks or one of our recreational areas that require that pass.”

The program is in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service. To find out more, go to MichiganActivityPass.info .
