Coming up this week will be a presentation on the history of the St. Joseph lighthouses. To be held Thursday at the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, the presentation will cover everything from the origins of the lights to their restoration, says museum curator Tracy Gierada.

“It will be illustrated by Power Point slides drawing from the archives of the Heritage Museum to present both a really broad history of the past lighthouses and navigational aids here in St. Joseph,” Gierada told WSJM.

The Heritage Museum has been managing public tours of the newly-restored lighthouses this summer, and Gierada says they’ve been very well received. Everyone’s welcome to come to the museum Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to learn more. Admission is $5 to non-museum members.
