With a new school year about to start, the Berrien County Health Department is holding a back to school wellness fair on Monday. Spokesperson Gillian Conrad says between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., you can bring by your school-age kids and make sure they’re ready to be back in the classroom.

“We will be offering free vision screenings for children age one through 18, and free hearing screenings for children who are entering preschool and kindergarten,” Conrad told WSJM. “We also will have immunizations available for children who are needing those shots to go back to school.”

They’ll also have activities and healthy snacks for the kids all day. Conrad says this is the first back to school wellness fair they’ve had, and the idea is to create a one-stop shop for parents to want their kids to be up to date on screenings. It will take place at the Berrien County Health Department building on Napier Avenue in Benton Township.
