With November’s presidential election looming, the Michigan Secretary of State’s office is making a push to get more people registered to vote. Spokesperson Fred Woodhams tells WSJM News the office’s mobile office is visiting 18 college campuses this month.

“We are sending it , in particular, to college campuses because, often, students are away from home and it may not be easy for them to register to vote as if they were back at home,” Woodhams said. “So, people can register at any Secretary of State office, and certainly, our mobile office counts as that.”

The mobile office will register college kids to vote at three west Michigan colleges next week, including WMU and GVSU. The last day to register to vote for November’s election is October 11.
