The Michigan Senate has passed a bill to create a “Choose Life” specialty license plate. The bills sponsor, Republican Senator Patrick Colbeck, says the plate will cost 35-dollars.
“Twenty-five dollars of the proceeds will go to a special choose life fund that would support life affirming services such as what you would find at a pregnancy resource center that take care of Mothers with unplanned pregnancies and provide for daily needs”
Colbeck says money from plate sales will also go towards suicide prevention services. Twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia have authorized Choose Life license plates, generating more than $21 million for life-promoting activities.
