The Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor will be offering free meals to young people this summer. The club’s Cindy Kinney tells WSJM News there are many kids in the city who lack access to healthy food during the season because school’s out.
“The school lunch program, with school being out, many youth go without food,” Kinney said. “So, we’re sort of helping to fill this need.”
The Boys and Girls Club will have daily snacks and dinners at both of its youth centers each weekday this summer. There also have meals at Broadway Park and Union Park. Any young person will be eligible.
