Fernwood Botanical Garden near Niles is looking for some help. The attraction located on 105 acres of property along the St. Joseph River will hold a fair next month seeking folks who want to donate their time to its operations. Volunteer coordinator Judi Jason spoke with WSJM News.
“We are always in need of volunteers,” Jason said. “We have a very small staff at Fernwood and we depend on volunteers to help in our day to day operations.”
Jason tells us they need folks to monitor the model railroad, maintain the trails, and do gardening. They also need people in the office. Fernwood has about 200 volunteers at any given time. The volunteer fair where you can learn about opportunities to help will be on Saturday, September 9 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
