The investigation continues into a weekend crash in Kalamazoo County that left five dead. Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says the community should be supportive and mourn while waiting to find out exactly what happened in the Comstock Township crash. He told WKZO News this week the details are complicated.

“Five young people have lost their lives, five young people that had a bright future,” Fuller said. “Unfortunately, that changed this past weekend.”

The vehicle carrying the victims burst into flames after striking a tree. Sheriff Fuller says people are too quick to jump to conclusions about culpability. The five teens died when the car they were in struck a tree around 1 a.m. Sunday.
