A total of $25,000 is going to the American Red Cross from Four Winds Casinos. Of that, $10,400 came from 275 employees who chose to donate through payroll deductions, and the casinos put in the rest. The fundraiser was created by employees to help out the victims of Hurricanes Henry, Irma, and Maria. Pokagon Band Chairman John P. Warren notes in a statement that the areas affected by the storms are home to many Native Americans, and it’s their duty as fellow tribal citizens to support them and others as they’re facing a crisis. He says employees were eager to help when the hurricanes hit.
