Michigan State Police are preparing to team up with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Niles next month to collect items for needy kids. Trooper Jesse Binns tells WSJM News the annual Stuff a Blue Goose drive will take place Saturday, November 11.

“We’ll be accepting non-perishable foods, new and unwrapped toys, and anything that can benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program,” Binns said.

State police call it the Blue Goose drive because “blue goose” is a nickname for MSP patrol cars, and they’re hoping to fill one up with items. The drive will be at Tyler Automotive in Niles on November 11, and you can also drop off items at the Niles state police post or Tyler Honda at 4356 Red Arrow Highway in Stevensville.
