Better Business Bureau Offers Tips To Avoid Holiday Scams

Don’t let scammers take the fun out of holiday shopping. The Better Business Bureau wants to offer everyone tips on how to help you avoid becoming a victim to holiday scams. The BBB’s Laura Blankenship told Michigan Network one way to protect yourself is to use credit cards.

“If you have a pre-paid card or a gift card, they don’t have the same protection as a credit card,” Blankenship said. “You’ll never lose more than the value of the credit itself there.”

Experts say online scams aren’t the only scams you have to be aware of. Once your item is purchased, scammers have now targeted your awaited delivery date so you should have your item delivered to a relative’s home or your workplace if you will not be at home.
