Spring enrollment at Lake Michigan College is looking strong. LMC President Trevor Kubatzke tells WSJM News that’s after fall enrollment was substantially down.

“As of today, we are less than 1% of where we were last year,” Kubatzke said.

Kubatzke tells us he gives all credit for the recovering enrollment to the staff at LMC.

“I attribute it to the hard work of the college community from advisers to faculty to everyone,” Kubatzke said. “For the last 3 months, we have been laser-focused on keeping the students that are with us and attracting new students.”

LMC this past fall started out the academic year with enrollment down 9% compared with the fall of 2016. The college says that aligns with many other recent national college enrollment trends during a time of low unemployment. The college also tells us enrollment in online courses is up 7% for this spring.
