A boost for low-income housing is coming to Benton Harbor. MOSAIC is establishing MOSAIC Develop thanks to a $50,000 grant from Indiana Michigan Power’s AEP Foundation.

“MOSAIC Develop is going to be housing related, so we’re going to acquire homes, do some renovation, and then do our best to be able to put people into those homes on a sustainable basis,” said MOSAIC executive director Ric Pawloski. He says it will add to their already-established mission in the area with three other social enterprises.

“Each one of those businesses, including MOSAIC Develop, is also used for job training,” Pawloski tells WSJM News. The AEP Foundation grant is being coupled with additional money from the Upton Foundation’s Big Idea Grant.
