Michigan State Police First Lieutenant Michael Shaw says a winter storm that rolled through southeastern Michigan Monday led to dangerous road conditions. He told Michigan News Network drivers should make sure to clear their entire car of snow.

“That’s not just a little spot on your windshield and maybe something on the side windows so you can see your mirror, it’s all of it,” Shaw said. “From the roof to all of the windows to the license plate to all of your lights. Get all of that snow off of there.”

Shaw adds that drivers should adjust their speed to the road conditions. He notes you will be held responsible for a crash caused by your driving too fast for the road conditions.
