Congress ended out the week having failed to approve a replacement program for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — or, DACA — program. Congressman Fred Upton tells WSJM News lawmakers in Washington had a shortened week.

“Because of Billy Graham lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda, by protocol, Congress is not in session when that happens,” Upton said. So, we will not come back into session until Monday of next week.”

Monday just happens to be March 5, which was the deadline for replacing DACA set by President Trump last year. Upton tells us the Senate’s failure to approve the most recent immigration proposal is a disappointment. He still hopes the House can come up with something.
