If you support renewable energy and want Indiana Michigan Power to invest more in it, you now have a chance to put your money where your mouth is. I&M spokesperson Tracy Warner tells WSJM News the company has now rolled out its Green Power Option to Michigan customers. With it, you can sign up to attribute a portion or all of your monthly energy usage to I&M’s renewable energy programs.

“For a typical household that uses about 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per month, to attribute 10% to renewables would be a little less that $2.50 per month,” Warner said.

Warner tells us you can’t know what percentage of your power is actually coming from wind or solar, but you can sign up to attribute some of your usage to those sources. The extra money goes to I&M’s renewable programs, which include the solar farm in Watervliet. You can find out more right here.
