Excitement is brewing for the newest wine festival in southwest Michigan. Set for June 9 at Weko Beach in Bridgman will be the Makers Trail Festival, featuring 23 makers of wine and other spirits. Greater Bridgman Area Chamber Director Calli Berg tells WSJM News it’s all about celebrating what may be the region’s fastest growing industry.

“I think the fact that Berrien County has an abundance of excellent water and fantastic agricultural products that it just creates the most delicious drinks, and we are excited to showcase all of the things Berrien County has to offer.”

The June 9 event will run from 1 to 10 p.m. and take up the entire parking lot at Weko Beach. Berg says if you want to attend, you’ll have to take a shuttle from town. Tickets are available at MakersTrailFestival.org for $10. It’ll cost more at the door. The day will also feature food from local vendors and live music.
