This Saturday will bring the biggest effort to clean up Great Lakes of the year. Alliance for the Great Lakes spokesperson Jennifer Caddick tells WSJM News hundreds of beach cleanups are being held throughout the Great Lakes region, and everyone’s welcome to show up. The Alliance for the Great Lakes cleanup made a big difference last year
“Last year, we had about 240 cleanup sites around the region, and we’re aiming for about that same number again,” Caddick said.
Caddick tells us events are still being scheduled, but cleanups already planned in southwest Michigan for Saturday include Jean Klock Park, Tiscornia Park, Rocky Gap Beach, and Pere Marquette Park Beach. There are several others. You can find all of the locations and the times at GreatLakesAdopt.org.
