CHARITY BASKETBALL GAME RAISES MONEY FOR TEACHER IN NEED
In Johnson City, Tennessee, North Side Elementary school faculty and students got together to raise money for their beloved kindergarten teacher Amy Barnett, who was diagnosed with colon cancer back in July.
Since her diagnosis, Amy has been traveling back-and-forth to Texas for treatment.
So to help pay for her transportation costs, the school held a charity basketball game.
The community responded in a big way. People from all the schools in the area packed the gym and shattered their fundraising goal of $2,000.
Amy, the entire school, and especially her students hope she will be well enough to return to the classroom in April. (WCYB-TV)
