The Environmental Protection Agency has released its PFAS Action Plan, and Senator Gary Peters says it doesn’t go nearly far enough. Peters tells WSJM News the plan announced on Thursday falls far short of what’s needed.

“Basically, the report they put out today was a report saying they are going to look at it further and may put another report out in the future,” Peters said. “That’s unacceptable. We need to have a standard. We need to have a standard now.”

Peters says there is a wealth of information on PFAS that could establish an acceptable standard for the chemicals in drinking water, as opposed to an advisory. In a statement Thursday, Peters said the EPA’s announced plan “makes it even clearer to me that this Administration will continue to delay action for as long as possible.” He told us he’ll continue to put pressure on the EPA and the administration to get action on protecting Americans from PFAS.
