Stevensville and Baroda area businesses are looking forward to a busy 2019 following this month’s annual meeting of the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce. Chamber President Ashlie Guyberson tells WSJM News the Business of the Year was Coaches Bar and Grill.

“We just felt that from an economic viability standpoint and in the efforts that they’re going through to support the community and grow the community were really good,” Guyberson said.

Guyberson says the Community Spirit Award went to Chas Potts of Anytime Fitness for his efforts to work with a boy with Down syndrome. Reflecting on 2018, she says the Lakeshore Chamber overcame many challenges.

“Absolutely is was a year of growth for sure, and we’re excited to look forward to 2019 because we want to continue that growth and look for other opportunities that are going to serve our members and the community together.”

In 2018, Guyberson says the chamber established a new home in downtown Stevensville, achieved a new designation, and held a variety of events. She says the organization has about 100 members.
