Plans for an Arby’s restaurant in Benton Township are moving forward. The Benton Township Planning Commission on Monday approved the preliminary site plan for the Arby’s to be located on the southwest corner of M-139 and Napier Avenue. Ken Knuckles with DMG Management group of Nashville, Tennessee tells WSJM News things could be moving soon.

“I think we’ll start construction most likely around the middle of April,” Knuckles said. “I would expect that mid to late August we should shoot to have this thing open.”

Knuckles appeared before the planning commission on behalf of developer Browning Properties II LLC. He told us Browning will develop the property, and Arby’s will lease it. The developer is combining two parcels, one with a former medical office and one with a former dry cleaning and tuxedo business. The plan is to tear down both buildings and put in an all-new structure, 35 parking spaces, driveways, and landscaping. The Arby’s project now goes to the Benton Township Board of Trustees.
