A Kalamazoo Public Safety officer is hospitalized after being shot responding to a report of a shooting at a plasma donation center. The officer’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A former employee of the Biomat USA Plasma Center in downtown Kalamazoo is accused of entering the building Tuesday and opening fire. Employee Lisa Walterhouse tells the “Kalamazoo Gazette” the man told people to call 911, and then they took off running. A statement from Kalamazoo Public Safety does not say anything about an active shooter situation, and they say there is no current threat to the public.
