Bangor Public Schools has received grant funding to improve safety. Superintendent Lynn Johnson tells WSJM News the district applied for funds from the Michigan State Police via the Van Buren Intermediate School District.
“We were able to secure in the first round of grants for the 2018-2019 school year approximately $41,250,”Johnson said. “It’s going to allow us to update all of our video surveillance throughout the district.”
Johnson told us that funding has been found for updating school entrances with an electronic key card system to ensure school security.
