$100,000 in scholarships and grants have been announced by the Lakeland Health Foundations for Lakeland employees. The organization’s Brandi Smith tells WSJM News the scholarships and grants are to help those workers pursue further education.
“Some are pursuing nursing degrees, some are getting certificates, but many of our team members are enrolled in different degree programs,” Smith said.
Smith says the Lakeland Health Foundations are able to support employees looking to expand their horizons thanks to donors who created endowments. Over the past 25 years, the foundations have awarded more than $1.5 million in grants and scholarships to team members.
