If you have a pre-existing health condition, listen up. A Texas federal lawsuit by Republican controlled states and the Trump administration, if successful, would destroy the Affordable Care Act and its ban on letting insurance companies discriminate against you if you have a pre-existing condition. Michigan State Representative Abdullah Hammoud spoke with WSJM News.

“If the president gets his way and the Texas v. U.S. lawsuit is successful, that result would mean more than 700,000 Michiganders could have their healthcare taken away and completely lose coverage. Coverage that they have come to depend on.”

Michigan House Minority Leader Christine Grieg says healthcare  Is going to be a huge issue in Michigan in the 2020 elections.

“The healthcare debate and the benefits of the Affordable Care Act are gonna continue to be an important issue in the minds of voters because it does have a direct impact on Michiganders across our state.”

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s support, has entered the Texas Affordable Care Act lawsuit to defend the health coverage guarantees and protections the healthcare law offers.
