Prices are up, but the number of homes sold in the area in July fell by 19% compared to a year ago. The Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors says home sales were also down by 14% from June with 317 sales closing, and the drop means year-to-date sales are up by just one house compared to 2018 at 1,986. The average selling price rose by 10% over last year to $251,423, while the median price shot up a whopping 21% to $200,000 from a year ago. It remains a tight market, as inventory of homes for sale fell and is down to a 7.4 month supply.
