Indiana has its first death, and the nation’s third, linked to the use of e-cigarettes. The State Department of Health says an adult over the age of 18 was confirmed as the first vaping-related death in that state on Thursday. The confirmation came the day after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer directed this state’s Department of Health and Human Services to issue emergency rules banning the sale of flavored vaping products to everyone regardless of age, and also banned the marketing of the products. There are at least six vaping-linked illnesses under investigation in Michigan and 30 in Indiana. Previous deaths linked to the use of e-cigarettes have happened in Illinois and Oregon.
