As people are waiting for the Niles Apple Festival Parade to get started on September 28, they’ll be able to check out some new activities at the Niles History Center. The center’s Christina Arseneau tells us from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day they’ll have “Blast from the Past.”

“We have a couple of demonstrators – a spinner, a weaver, and a blacksmith – who will be around the museum, inside and around the grounds around the history center demonstrating, and then we’re going to have a bunch of old fashioned games set up as well,” Arseneau said.

Arseneau says people line up for the parade in front of the Niles History Center, and so the center thought it could do something to entertain them. Plus, they’ll have an open house at the Chapin Museum. Meanwhile, the Niles District Library right next door will offer a course in designing a dog agility course. Those who want to take part in that will have to register by calling the library.
