The historic Scott Club building in South Haven is now a bit safer thanks to the local Rotary club. The Rotary Club of South Haven has funded the installation of a fire detection system at the attraction. Constructed in 1893, the Queen Anne-style Scott Club building is a Michigan historic site. The Rotary says the new fire detection system is wired directly to the local fire department and will notify them immediately if a fire is detected. This is the second installation of a fire detection system in a historically important building funded by the Rotarians. The first was at the Historical Association of South Haven, formerly the Hartman School, in 2017.
