Democrats in the U.S. Senate are calling on their Republican colleagues to “let the facts come out” and hold off on any judgments regarding the impeachment inquiry into President Trump by the U.S. House. At the Capitol, Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan says the administration needs to be upfront with what happened regarding Ukraine.

“We know we have a responsibility to investigate and to hold the White House accountable,” said Stabenow. However, she added they know they have other work that needs to be done. “We also are committed to legislating and solving problems.”

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer says they are “not going to take sides about the ultimate results of the trial until we get the facts and the trial occurs in the Senate.” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell accused House Democrats of denying the administration due process in the impeachment probe.
