South Haven Public Works has been busy dealing with flooding, erosion and removing debris from the piers. High lake levels and high winds in a series of storms are the causes for problems for city residents and public works crews. South Haven Public Works Director Bill Hunter spoke with WSJM News about the work underway.

“We had flooding at North Beach and flooding at Ellen Avery Park,” Hunter said. “We had water up on South Beach going all over the way over the sidewalk area, and of course, saw too a lot of the beach erosion.”

Hunter says they will continue to remove beach debris. Beach restoration will begin in the summer.
