An arson inside the Niles Walmart store is under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department and the Niles Fire Department. A man and a woman are accused of setting merchandise on fire in the apparel department shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday and then leaving the store in a dark colored sedan. Both suspects are white, and he was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans while she was wearing a University of Michigan jacket.

Investigators are trying to determine if this fire is connected to three previous intentionally-set fires inside the store earlier this year on April 26, June 13 and July 19, as no arrests have been made and no suspects were identified in those cases. No one was hurt, and authorities don’t yet have a damage estimate from the latest fire.
