All that remains for legal recreational marijuana businesses to set up shop in Buchanan now is state and local licensing. The city commission this week approved a zoning ordinance amendment to allow for those companies. The state has so far issued eight licenses, with three of those in Ann Arbor to businesses already selling medical marijuana. As many as six retail sites and two consumption centers will be allowed in Buchanan. That city and Niles are the only local governments in Berrien County so far to allow recreational marijuana businesses.
