The substance abuse counselling service Carol’s Hope has an extra $2,700 courtesy of 54 members of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office. Undersheriff Chuck Heit says that was raised by those employees paying $50 to get the freedom to put away the razors for “No Shave November.”

He says Carol’s Hope “has been a great setting for those who are suffering. We in law enforcement understand opioid and other addictions, and felt it was a very worthwhile charity for us to put our money towards.”

Sheriff Paul Bailey delivered the check today to Carol Stockman. The sheriff’s office this month is raising money for Special Olympics Michigan with “No Shave December,” and a total of $2,450 was raised to be donated to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office team that will do the Polar Plunge on February 1 at the Watermark Brewing Company in Stevensville.
