Berrien County will have a new prosecutor next year. Prosecuting Attorney Michael Sepic says he will not seek re-election in 2020, saying he will be 70 years old at the end of this current term at the close of the year, and is looking forward to retirement. He was appointed prosecutor in 2013 after Arthur Cotter stepped down to become a judge and was elected in 2014 to fill the rest of that term and again in 2016. Sepic’s law career began in 1979 in Eaton Rapids, outside of Lansing, in private practice. He became an assistant prosecuting attorney in Calhoun County in 1985 and joined the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office as an assistant in 1988.
