An investigation is underway by St. Joseph Public Safety into allegations the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor site director at St. Joseph High School assaulted a student on campus on Thursday. St. Joseph Public Schools superintendent Dr. Thomas Bruce says both the club and the high school are “actively cooperating” with the investigation. Dr. Bruce adds in an email to parents that the site director was immediately fired by the Boys & Girls Club due to the organizations’ zero tolerance policy regarding violence, and says the number one priority for both organizations is the protection of the youth being served. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor have been at St. Joseph High School for the past four months, and that relationship is going to continue.

No names have been released.
