As more of us keep the cars and trucks parked and work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for gasoline has continued to plummet and take prices with it. However, GasBuddy.com analyst Patrick DeHaan says while prices nationally will still fall a little more, the 95¢ per gallon price in South Haven and $1.12 in Watervliet aren’t going to last much longer.

“Some of the areas of the Great Lakes where those prices are 99¢, they may go up a little bit in the next few days,” said DeHaan in an update on Facebook. “So if you’re in the Great Lakes and have 99¢ prices down the street, it may not be a bad time to go fill up.”

DeHaan says stations in Wisconsin that were down to 75¢ per gallon are moving higher and notes that’s the Great Lakes state that’s been the lowest during the pandemic. Wisconsin’s average price as of Tuesday afternoon is $1.19, while Michigan is at $1.39, Indiana sits at $1.43, and Illinois is quite a bit higher at $1.78.
