It looks like the Stay at Home orders because of coronavirus have had an impact on the roads in Michigan.

“When we compared the first four months of 2019 to the first four months of 2020, there’s been a 29% reduction in crashes,” said Wingrove. “We’ve gone from 100,511 in 2019 down to just over 71,000 in 2020.

“Fatalities have dropped from 260 in 2019 to about 194 in the first four months of 2020,” added Wingrove. “So the Stay-at-Home order has resulted in fewer crashes and fewer fatalities in Michigan.”

He says there is a concern about the number of people speeding on Michigan freeways, because state police have issued a lot of tickets.
