The worst of the effects of the coronavirus on the economy may be behind us. That’s the finding of Brian long, from Grand Valley State University’s Seidman College of Business. He spoke with Michigan News Network this week.

“We’re starting to dig ourselves out of a very deep hole,” Long said. “We can’t expect miracles overnight, but it’s gratifying at least to say that we’ve probably reached the bottom and are starting to recover.”

Long surveyed West Michigan business leaders. He says barring a relapse in the fall, history will record either March or April as the bottom of the 2020 Recession. Long says the economy probably won’t be into full positive territory until mid or late summer.
